Quick Start
Quick Start
Here's a quick start guide to using WrenchReminder.com
1) Create a login account by clicking on the Registration link on the left sidebar on the site, then login.
2) Add your vehicle by clicking on the Maintenance tab at the top and then clicking on "Add new vehicle" at the top of the page.
3) If you already own this vehicle, click on the "Buy" button on the Owner field group area (below the photo area). Fill in the data. Note that the location and license information is not publicly viewable, used only to track site usage and maintain vehicle histories.
- if you are entering the vehicle just for a Pre Purchase Inspection, you can skip this step
4) Create your maintenance schedule, pre purchase inspection or restoration plan. There are two ways to do this: from scratch, or by copying one that already exists on the site.
- To copy an existing template, click on the "copy" icon on the Maintenance Templates field group. A list of all templates are displayed, and you can filter the list based on make/model. Select one and click on View Items to see the schedule details. When you find one you like, click on the checkmark button at the bottom. The schedule will be copied to your vehicle. You will probably need to adjust the initial due dates for the maintenance items.
- To create a schedule from scratch, click on the Add (+) icon on the Maintenance Templates field group. You can add each item in your schedule individually. Enter the initial date/mileage for when an item is due, and then the date/mileage interval it will be due after that. If an item is a followup to another item, or a "while you're in there" item, you can select the related item. If you have notes for the item you can enter them.
That's it! You can track your due items either by subscribing to an RSS feed or by viewing the schedule from time to time on the web site. Enter your mileage from time to time so that the site can accurately estimate mileage due items.
